Excited to bring you the next update from the field - this time at the actual field location where we’ve been bringing the dirt to layer over the black cotton soil.
And more importantly in this update, we talk about what “we” in If We Build It means. Do you know what the word “harambe” means in Swahili? Learn all about it in this video update from Nairobi’s field of dreams.
We also meet Steve Ogendo of Nairobi’s civil engineering and construction firm DEREX 10 Limited who is a great example of the community coming together as has stepped up big time by providing us with a major in-kind donation of discounted equipment for the grading and levelling of the project.
He’s already helped us save thousands of dollars and keep the project moving quickly as we make the push for the field to be playable by December 2022.
We’re still short of our goal and to keep the donations coming we need you to spread the word!
Thank you to all of our donors who have helped us love to this point and inspire people like Steve to see that there is a community of support behind this project.
As we say, if WE build it, anything is possible.
