From Dreams to Reality: Nairobi's Field of Dreams Has a New Backstop & It's a Big Hit

In the last two weeks, we received our official 501(c)3 non-profit status, constructed a temporary backstop, and held our first Saturday games with over 50 players and dozens of spectators out to watch.

On Saturday, February 11, we celebrated all of the tremendous progress we've made on the Nairobi Field of Dreams project over the last year and a half. In the last few weeks, we completed building a temporary backstop. With improved soil conditions and the new backstop, we put out a call for players to come test out the field and wow, what a turnout - over 50 players came out with dozens of spectators watching! Going forward players and teams will be able to practice and use the field for games as we continue to raise funds; we still have a lot to do.

Raising funds we hope will be even easier, now that we've received our official 501(c)3 determination letter from the United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS). If you require a retroactive donation we're able to generate a letter for the 2022 tax year with the upcoming filing deadline right around the corner.

In the next month, we want to build out dugouts and seating for spectators in advance of a big celebratory fundraising event/weekend where we'll host a youth skills clinic, play exhibition games, and host spectators and dignitaries in late March/early April before the rains come. If we can raise at least $5,000 in the next 30 days, we'll be able to accomplish this goal. More importantly, the event will help us raise even more funds.

Please help us reach the next stage in building our multi-field baseball, softball and Little League complex.

Thanks to everyone who has donated so far and please help us continue to make progress by sharing the campaign with friends and family!
